1/23/2024 0 Comments Sek kuar deathkeeper edhThere is a Demon as well as a Sacrifice subtheme, as cards such as Grave Pact are pretty good with the Apostles. I can run cards in this deck that are otherwise useless in EDH, such as Bloodbond March, Nantuko Shrine, & Thrumming Stone. The deck didn't need him on the field to win. The deck is commanded by Sek'Kuar, Deathkeeper and focuses on synergy between certain cards and the Apostles. I built my deck to have a lot of synergistic lines, so Sek'kuar was merely a combo piece in the command zone. Ideally you'd have at least one effect to apply +1/+1 counters on ETB on board prior, but Grumgully is tutorable so the floor to win is 8 mana which isnt hard to get in Jund. The deck is commanded by Sek'Kuar, Deathkeeper and focuses on synergy between certain cards and the Apostles. If you use Murderous Redcap, you can skip Invoker and burn the table with just itself, Skirk, and Grumgully. ![]() Repeat this loop to generate infinite Red mana.Ĭast Flamewave Invoker, use its activate ability to burn the table down. Grumgully triggers on ETB putting a +1/+1 counter on Putrid, negating the -1/-1 counter. Persist triggers bringing Putrid Goblin back to the battlefield. Its hard to put damage through when all your creatures are small and you keep sacrificing them. Sacrifice Putrid Goblin to Skirk Prospector, make Red mana. Sekkuar himself is very slow and the deck tends to be slow and control-y. One of my favorite combos was ] to tutor up ] + ] or ] + ] + ] = infinite red mana, infinite damage, infinite Graveborn with Sek'kuar out. I ran a Sek'kuar Persist combo for a while. I know aristocrat strategies would well with this kind of setup but is there anything else out there that I'm missing? With Sek'Kuar out then you get infinite 3/1's with haste which seems pretty decent if you ask me. slacker posted to SekKuar, Deathkeeper EDH - 2 weeks ago Mainboard Changelist + 1, - 1 Ashes to Ashes Noxious Gearhulk Notes: Ashes to Ashes: very strong, but not thematic or fun/interesting enough for its strength. ![]() Add in a ] and ] and you get infinite ETB and death triggers. Using ] or ] with ] ends up in a loop with the witness in the grave and persist in hand. Immediately I saw something with him that got me brewing but asking around for more ideas with this guy won't hurt. Instead of giving you value like mana or card draw, he just gives you hasty dudes. I saw this guy and he seemed pretty cool. Sure Korvold is probably one of if not the best for Jund but I've seen enough of him in my playgroup and LGS so I wanted something a bit different.Įnter ]. Looking through the top commanders for the color combo and there are a lot of strong ones. ![]() I've been wanting to build a Jund deck for some time now as I figured building 3 color decks is something I don't do often enough.
